Longtime Locust Grove Supervisor and board chairman David Ingram lost his seat in Saturday’s GOP primary canvass.
It wasn’t even close: Ingram lost to challenger Lauren Yoder 205-143, sending a message to local incumbents that status quo isn’t cutting it with voters — a message that may also get delivered in a school board race where three incumbents face re-election.
Yoder, a local businessman, volunteer fireman and political newcomer, ran an aggressive house-to-house campaign in the district. His yard signs appeared throughout the district while Ingram’s campaign was not that visible.

Congratulations to Lauren Yoder! Although his political persuasion is quite different from mine, he seems to be a person with integrity and ethics. I believe he will have the best interests of Floyd County and its residents in mind.

I have heard that there are at least 2 candidates for the school board that are looking to unseat the incumbents at the next election. Do you happen to know who the candidates are? I have also heard that they are from the Tea Party. Do you know if that is true? I have not been able to find anything online. Maybe I am just not looking in the right places.
