The weather forecast this morning is chilling (pun intended) with winds driving the effect of sub-teen temperatures below zero in the highlands.
The thermometer read 12 when I got up this morning but the wind howled through the night and I know we have lots of ice around.
Some years ago, I had to fly into Chicago for a meeting in mid-December. When the plane landed at O’Hare, the pilot came on the intercom to with a cheery “welcome to Chicago. The temperature outside is 26 below and that’s NOT the wind chill.”
Now that was cold.
