The government of the Town of Floyd expects merchants to clean their sidewalks and parking areas  by 9:30 a.m. after a snowfall. Failure to do so can lead to a fine. On Monday, the Bank of Floyd Parking Lot, Food Lion, Floyd Pharmacy, Village Green and other private lots were clear and open for traffic.

Workers employed by various business owners were busy shoveling snow off sidewalks.

But the town’s public parking lot on Locust Street (below) remained unplowed. Makes us wonder if the town will fine itself for non-compliance.

UPDATE: 11:00 a.m. A plow is currently working on the Floyd public lot.
