Floyd County High School’s Lady Buffaloes opened regional contention Tuesday with a 5-3 win over Randolph-Henry with solid hitting and strong team play.

Chistine Phillips pitched a six-hitter and struck out two batters in a row to end a scoring threat by Randolph-Henry in the third inning, extending her winning record to 11-2 for the season.
A win in the semi-finals gives the Lady Buffs a spot in the state playoffs and continues their march towards a second straight state title.
