Summer arrived over the weekend but — as far as temperatures and the presence of thunderstorms go — it was already here.
With temperatures in the 80s here in the mountains and predictions of thunderstorms each day for the next week, hot and muggy days are the norm.
Says Kevin Myatt, weather guru for The Roanoke Times:
With summer now officially started by any definition, a summerlike pattern of warm to hot, sticky days with scattered afternoon showers and storms is locking in as well.
Summertime, and the living is easy.
Well, maybe sort of easy.
Or maybe just plain hot.
