Yeah, yeah, I could try to come up with some rational explanations for this short clip, shot over the Memorial Day weekend in Wytheville in 2012.
Why bother? A bikini contest is a chance for us to leer at sweet young things in very little clothing. We do so without shame or remorse and it’s all in fun.
And when you can get permission from the heirs of the late J.P. Richardson, aka “The Big Bopper” to use his classic song, “Chantilly Lace,” it completes the package.
Richardson, sadly, died in the plane crash that also killed Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens on Feb. 4th, 1959, which singer Don McLean may or may not have immortalized in “American Pie.”
