It’s the final weekend of August and the last one before Labor Day.

Friday activities:

Vintage Blue Meets World Jazz, with Scott Perry and David McGregor at The Jacksonville Center, 220 Parkway Lane South, 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Friday Night Jamboree, The Floyd Country Store, 206 South Locust Street, featuring Geneva & Friends for the Gospel Hour at 6:30 p.m., The Clyde Williams Old Time Band at 7:30 p.m. and 2 Young, 2 Old at 9:00 p.m.

At Floyd County High School, the Varsity Football Buffaloes meet Carroll County in the home football opener at 7:00 p.m.

Zion Players and Bad T.V. is Back is on stage at Oak Grove Pavilion at 7:00 p.m. at 365 Needmore Lane.

Woodberry Restaurant and Bar has Karaoke Friday at 183 Woodberry Lane just off the Blue Ridge Parkway from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Dogtown features The Commons from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at 302 South Locust Street.

Saturday activities:

Floyd Farmers Market at the Community Pavilion, 205 South Locust Street, 205 South Locust Street, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Market of the Mountain at Harvest Moon, 227 North Locust Street, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Americana Afternoon at The Floyd Country Store, 206 South Locust Street, featuring John Wesley Carpenter from Galax at noon and Carolinabound from Western North Carolina at 1:00 p.m.

Family Fun Day at Turman Sports Complex, 401 Kyle Weeks Road, from noon to 6:00 p.m. features a big waterslide, volleyball, softball and good food.

Marshall Brothers and High Road take the stage at Wildwood General Store from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 2380 Floyd Highway.

The Zion Players close out “Bad T.V. is Back” at Oak Grove Pavilion with a 7:00 p.m. performance at 365 Needmore Lane.

Ramblin’ Jack Elliott brings his legendary adaptations of folk music to The Floyd Country Store at 7:30 p.m. at 206 South Locust Street.

Dogtown features Atoka Chase on stage from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at 302 South Locust Street.

Sunday:

Chateau Morrisette Winery hosts Sunday Sounds from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 287 Winery Road just off the Intersection of Black Ridge Road and the Parkway.

The Floyd Country Store hosts music jams at 206 South Locust Street with Old-Time Music from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Blugrass from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

And Open Mic Night at Dogtown closes out the weekend at 7:00 p.m. at 302 South Market Street.
