Radford defeated Floyd County HIgh School’s varsity and jv basketball teams Thursday night.
The Bobcats took the varsity Buffaloes 66-40, piling up a 22-7 lead in the first quarter but the Buffs came back in the second quarter to close up the score by outscoring the Bobcats 16-10. Radford came back with a strong third quarter and a surge by Floyd in the final quarter wasn’t enough.
Noah Bolt led Buffalo scoring with 11 points.
The JV matchup ended 59-38 in favor of Radford.
The Chance Harman Memorial basketball tournament is scheduled to begin Friday for two days with Floyd facing Gate City at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting.
