Sometimes I feel like Al Pacino in Godfather III:
Just when I think I’m out…they pull me back.
Tried, once again, to walk away from my bastard child called Capitol Hill Blue. Failed, once again. The Rant, my on-again, off-again column of the last 10 years, returned today with an appropriately-titled piece called Deja Vu All Over Again.
My 12-step program to free myself from the addiction of writing about politics and life failed. I flunked.
Oh well. It’s still better than drinking.
You don’t look too happy about your haircut, Doug. Or is the fact that your not smiling have something to do with your new rant? I’m going to check it out. I think you should be a guest ranter rather than a regular…that way you have the option either way.
I love the self-portrait. Very well done. Although I agree with Amy–I like long hair on my men. A hold-over from the 60’s. I imagine.
Rant when you feel the need to vent. It’s good for the soul.
I just love it, all of it!
You look 15 years younger.
At your age, that’s not a bad thing! 🙂
On balance, I’d say that this crisp new look will earn more respect and admiration than the other. If it sells more pictures, that’s not a bad thing, ya know…
I’m just envious because you have the hair to play around with. I haven’t had that option for twenty years!
Go with the flow. If you decide not to like it, it will grow out in a few months.
