The fringes of tropical storm Cindy gave Floyd it’s first full day of rain since winter, soaking a drying land long in need of a good rain. Swollen creeks followed the end of the welcome deluge and Cindy has now moved on to points north (including our old stomping grounds of Washington, DC).
But more may be coming. Hurricane Dennis could come this way sometime next week, just about the same time the Governor of Virginia is supposed to chopper into Floyd for a photo-op town meeting.
A hurricane or a politician? Some choice.
The buck is standing on a bank above the top of the frame. Look at the trees. He’s towering over them.

What a monumental coincidence, just as you’re framing the shot, a five-pointer strikes a majestic pose on a bluff above the tree line, which reflects perfectly in a narrow stream, just where you need it! Incredible! (I think we’re gonna have to call in the ultimate authority on this one, Fred First.)
Absolutely gorgeous photograph. Thank you for sharing it.
This is one for the … I don’t know what, but its the one for something! Nice!
