Floyd County High School varsity football running back Dorian Harris delivered another outstanding performance Friday night as the Buffaloes routed Patrick County 48-19 in the second home game of the season.
Harris, who appears on his way to a 1,000-yard plus season, racked up more than 100 yards and three touchdowns in the first half alone as the Buffalo offensive line opened up holes in the Patrick County defense and he shook off tackledsbefore out-sprinting everyone to the goal line.
Floyd County took the lead early on a touchdown run by Harris but Patrick County stopped the Buffaloes on the next drive with a strong goal line stand and stayed within a touchdown for the first half before the Buffaloes blew the game open after halftime.
The Buffaloes kept the crowd on its feet for much of the game on a cool, crisp September evening and even miscues on field goals that angered coach Winifred Beale (right) didn’t slow the team’s march towards a second-straight home blowout of a non-district opponent.
The Buffaloes will be on the road for the next two weeks.
